The Mayor is a representative and the highest executive body of the town. He acts as a town statutory body in the issues of property rights and labor management relations. He is a legal body in public-law administration. He is a fiscal body in tax-expense and fees issues. He represents the town externally as well as in relations to all natural and legal persons. The Mayor is deputized by the Mayor Deputy who is normally elected for an entire electoral term by the Municipal Assembly consisting of town councilors.
2. MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY
The Municipal Assembly in Turcianske Teplice is a representative body composed of 12 town councilors elected for four years in a direct election by town residents. It determines principles for property management and treatment, management revision of the town properties, approves town budgets and its changes, controls budget drawings and approves its closing accounts, determines assumption of indebtedness and suretyship contracts, approves town and its parts planning scheme, a development conception of particular areas of the town life, determines local tax introduction and annulment, purports voting of residents in the most important town and development issues and invoke public meetings, censers enactments of the town, approves international cooperation contracts, defines Municipal Office organization, establishes institutes, and controls nonprofit and contributory organizations, appoints and withdraws their managers at suit of the Mayor, legal persons with capital participation, gives honorary citizenship badges of honors, and awards, assigns the town coat-of-arms flag, seal eventually a signature tune, endorses contract transfers of real property. Each deputy elected into the Municipal Council is obliged to take a wow of a town councilor.

2. MUNICIPALITY OFFICE ACTIVITIES
The Municipality Office is an executive body of the Municipal Assembly and the Mayor. It does not have legal personality, is not legal person (par. 1, clause 1 of the Act No. 369/1990 the Collection of Laws as amended by subsequent regulations and amendments).
- specific administrative and organizational matters connected to assignments fulfillments of the Municipal Assembly, its bodies, and the Mayor
- execution of universal binding regulations, the Municipal Assembly and the Municipal Office resolutions and the Mayor resolutions as well
- it executes and renders evaluations of accepted resolutions
The Municipality Office activities are supervised by a Municipality Office Manager.

The Municipality Office Manager is a town employee appointed and removed by the Mayor. He/She accounts for his/her activities to the Mayor. The Municipality Office Manager organizes work, supervises, controls economic proceedings of Municipal Office, co-ordinates activities eventually solves problems among departments, co-ordinates activities among contributory and budgetary town organizations with town requirements and budget cohesion, and proposes measures for improvement.
